Terms of service

Who these terms are between

BetterDesk is provided by Louise de Jonge, trading as Mission To Move, 10 Du Toit St, Oosterville, Upington, 8801, South Africa. These terms apply to every business that uses BetterDesk (a practice, gym, studio or similar) and to its staff. Contact us at louisedejonge1@gmail.com.

The service

BetterDesk provides online bookings, client files, forms, invoices and messages, online booking for clients, and the parts each kind of business needs (for practices, treatment records and medical aid claims; for gyms and studios, classes, packages and joining forms). We keep it available and secure, fix faults as soon as we can, and tell businesses in advance about planned changes that affect them.

The business’s responsibilities

The business is responsible for the information it enters, for having a lawful reason and, where needed, consent to keep and use it, for giving its clients a privacy notice, and for who in the business has access.

The wording of the business’s own forms and waivers is the business’s responsibility; the starting drafts in the system should be checked by its own advisor.

For practices: clinical decisions, treatment records, codes on accounts and claims remain the responsibility of the practice and its registered professionals. Automated help in the system (such as warnings about codes) supports, but does not replace, professional judgement.

Staff keep their passwords to themselves and use two-step sign-in where the business requires it.

WhatsApp and email messages

The business sends messages only to clients who agreed to receive them, only about their bookings, care, classes or membership, and in line with Meta’s WhatsApp Business policies. No marketing or bulk messages to people who did not ask for them.

Meta charges for WhatsApp messages sent by the system according to its published prices; those charges are between the business and Meta unless agreed otherwise.

Fees

Fees are agreed with each business. If an account stays unpaid, access may be paused after notice; the business’s information is kept safe during a pause and access returns once the account is paid.

The business’s information

The business owns the information it enters. BetterDesk uses it only to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy, and returns it to the business on request or when the business leaves.

Ending

A business can stop using the system at any time by telling us. We may end the service for a business that seriously breaks these terms, after notice where possible. Either way, the business can download its information first.

Limits

We do our best to keep BetterDesk working without interruption, but cannot promise it will never be unavailable. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses; nothing in these terms limits liability that South African law does not allow to be limited.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of South Africa. Last updated 1 October 2026.
